Riverpoint Dock, LLC

Strategically located on the Kanawha River in Marmet, West Virginia, River Point Dock, LLC has rapidly developed into one of the most competitive and efficient coal-loading facilities in the area. The company stockpiles, sizes, and custom blends coal for shipment to domestic utilities, industrial users and coal exporting companies.

River Point’s expertise in quality control and attention to customer needs translates into consistent and dependable performance throughout its operations. Its barge-loading facility has been completely renovated and features all new feeding, conveying and crushing equipment. To respond to individual client requests, the five variable-speed vibrating feeders allow the coal to be custom-blended for each order. The barge-loading facility also includes an HSS two-stage automatic sampler owned by River Point and operated by an independent laboratory. Riverpoint is also outfitted with a James A Redding automated truck sampling system with 12’ auger for inbound truck sampling.

River Point Dock prides itself on its in-depth and responsive capabilities. Eighteen acres for coal storage within the facility can accommodate in excess of 120,000 tons. The coal is loaded at the rate of 1,500 tons per hour, approximately eight barges or 12,000 tons per day. With the completion of recent renovations and expansion, River Point has consistently loaded 150,000 to 200,000 tons of coal per month. Due to the close proximity to the

Marmet Locks, a constant pool level is maintained which enables continuous loading throughout the year without being disturbed by water fluctuations.
River Point Dock provides rail service to its customers via CSX Transportation and can provide coal which can be shipped via truck, barge or railway.

River Point’s business approach has earned the company recognition among the industry it serves. Through astute interpretation of customer needs and a dedication to the quality service, River Point Dock continues its commitment to client satisfaction and industrial efficiency.
